When you are friends with someone, you do so much together. You stick together through thick and thin, and you know each other’s secrets. You are both there for each other and are a listening ear. But sometimes it goes from chats and coffee to …. well… nothing. Nothing at all! Suddenly it is as if your friend has disappeared off the edge of the world. Despite phoning them or messaging them, they do not get in touch. So just how do you cope when your friend ghosts you?
You are going to get upset. This person who you have cried on their shoulder, taken in as part of your family has disappeared from your life. It can even be as upsetting as a sexual partner leaving you. It is even harder when you don’t know what you have done. Today we wanted to share some advice about how to cope when your friend ghosts you and leaves your life forever.

Don’t Call Them
Don’t keep calling them, that is what they want. They want you to pine over them and try to keep the friendship going. Your (ex) friend is laughing at you for keeping phoning and they will start to call you names like a stalker. You are better than this!
Even though it is upsetting when a friend walks away from your life, and you want answers as to why. You shouldn’t chase them by calling them. The same goes with messenger or WhatsApp, they will just end up blocking you and that is more upsetting for you.
Don’t Use Social Media As A Weapon
Do not say anything bad on social media about this ‘friend’. Do not use it as a weapon, because it will start making you look like the bad person in the situation. Your other friends don’t want to be caught up in the situation either. So having it splashed all over social media means they are likely to unfollow you. We are not in the school playground anymore.
As equally as important, do not write on social media how sad you are about the friendship. Do not let them know how much it is affecting you. Just try and carry on as normal. This will then get them wondering how you are getting on and whether you are going to do something for revenge.
Don’t Get Sad Or Angry
Do not waste any more negativity on them. Do not get angry or upset over the whole situation. You are better than this and you do not need to mourn over someone who has walked away from you. When you get angry, you tend to do things that you will regret later on. And if you are sad, you will beg them to come back into your life.
So even though you may feel upset over what has happened. And you feel confused about it, do not let it show. Do not let the anger consume you. They chose to walk away and not be part of your life, so they are the ones who have lost out on having someone awesome in their life.
Don’t Stalk Them
You will be so tempted to see what they are up to on social media. You will pop over to their page and see who they are with and what they are doing. But the ‘friend’ is only going to show what she thinks will upset you. She is showing what she wants you to see. She is being a bitch.
Don’t do this to yourself. Take time to block them on all social media, this way you are not tempted to even look at them. Concentrate on the friends that are there for you.
Do Believe That You Are Awesome
You are bloody awesome, you might need reminding of it from time to time. But you are not the one who has walked out – she has. You have done nothing wrong, you are a good friend. Please remember this.
