Are you considering moving closer to your family, or perhaps they are suggesting you do so but you are not so sure. Here I want to share 6 reasons why moving closer to your family could make a big difference in your life.

Family help with moving
If you live nearer your family, once you have paid the movers and packers cost you will have everything in your new home and lots of family to help you unpack and make the house your own. Do you have a family member who is good at DIY? they can help you get all your decorating done and the money saved will be huge. What about childcare during the house move, maybe mum could help with that?
Saving money on visits
Would you love to visit your family more but you can not afford it? Perhaps living closer to them would be a great way to save money on visiting them but also mean you can see them as often as you would like.
Help with childcare
Whether you have toddlers or teens there will always be a time when you would love someone to keep an eye on them for you, perhaps you want to go out for a night or to a friend’s wedding? Whatever it is the family you live near may be able to help out on occasions like this.
Family are friends
Do you enjoy spending time with your sister but don’t often get the chance? Moving closer to her may make all the difference to your relationship. Those summer evenings you can sit and drink gin together or the playgroups you can take the kids to together. Why not make those family relationships stronger by living nearby.
Support in an emergency
Those emergencies that require someone to watch the kids while you go to hospital, deal with a flood or perhaps take another child to an appointment having family nearby could be so helpful. Not only that but you could help them with similar emergencies. It is hard being so far from family at times when you see them struggling or you struggle yourself so this is one big reason you should consider moving closer to your family.
Financial support
If you lose your bank card or something happens and you are short of money then having family close by can make all the difference. I know I would much rather ask family to lend me £20 until I can get to the bank than a neighbour, wouldn’t you?
